Skipped over the first AOE for the most part. Loved AOE 2 (used to play a lot in High School, LAN parties and such), and lately I've been playing quite a bite of AOE 3 with the new expansions.

Friends and I used to play network games after school... had some pretty mean games, 1 had swarms of janissaries, another had siege onagers, and I went with the cheap units (loads of skirmishers and scouts).

I love killing time with a quick skirmish in AOE3, and the new graphics/units/ages/etc. don't really bother me, in fact they're a nice addition and mix things up a bit.
