The Wii is just sitting on the TV stand collecting dust these days, wish Nintendo still had Rare on their side (DK, Goldeneye, etc. were all amazing games).

Definitely. Rare games were great.

I think the motion based control is a great idea, and personally I am really looking forward to when X360 (or the next xbox) gets that tech going. I think they will come out with so really great games for it.

Well I gave in and bought one today with a Wii Fit. So far it's fun and entertaining, but we'll see if it lasts. I can't believe how expensive the Wiimotes are to purchase separately.

I agree, the extras stuff for the Wii is a bit on the expensive side. I have the Wii fit too. I really like it, but I didn't really get any results with it (I'm in pretty good shape though). I think its not really geared to give you a hard work out. I think once they come out with a Wii Fit 2 it will be better.

I keep meaning to get that. Isn't that the one that has all the mini games like pool?

Yea, it's actually called Wii Play and comes with a free wii mote ($49.99 for the bundle from Amazon). Comes with Pool, Table Tennis, Shooting Range, Tanks, and a bunch of other games (all 2 player).

$49.99 at Amazon.com

In my honest opinion, I really don't think the Wii is any good at all. I mean, there are barely any decent games apart from SSBB & Super Mario Galaxy, the graphics aren't "next" generation, and it can't even play BluRay, HD DVD, or even DVD for that matter.

The big draw of the Wii was really the new motion based stuff, but I don't think they have taken full advantage of it yet.

I always thought the players were rather pointless though. Particularly the PS players that are low grade (the PS2 player caused a lot of problems). Maybe its just me, but I never use them.

I think the Wii is a different way of experiencing games. It's a development and part of a virtual world which will only develop further. I don't want to buy a Wii myself, but I know first hand that kids become hooked. Plus they jump, move and shout a lot and get some exercise. The Wii is not only fun to play, but it's also fun to watch others play on the Wii. But personaly I prefer PC games.
