Default Should kids play outside more?

I've seen parents with kids move from their apartments in a city to houses with gardens in villages or small towns. And now they complain that their kids don't use their garden at all. They stay indoors and play video games.

When I was young we spent a lot of time outside, played soccer with all the kids from the neighbourhood, went fishing and rowing and so on.

What do you think of this? Should kids play outsight more?

There is no doubt that kids should play outside more. Though in this day and age -- it's not going to happen.

Yea, with all of America's problems of kids being overweight and not as active (not just kids), everyone should get out more. I played a fair amount of video games when I was younger (still do), but we also got out of the house quite frequently too.

I think they should play outside more, but as Luminous already said, I doubt it will happen. Today's technology will keep advancing, and kids are going to become more into it. I'm an example. All I do is play video games and online PC games. I don't remember the last time when I went outside...?

We used to play outside all the time when we were younger, but we used to play a lot of video games. I guess it's all about balance, something that kids these don't understand.

I hope my kids don't turn out to be lazy gamers

I agree, its all about the balance. I used to game a lot but I still played outside a lot too.

I think part of the problem is that kids don't want to just play anymore, they keep trying to act like they are older. The tween thing kinda creeps me out. Just be a kid while you can.

It doesnt matter where they ive game systems have developed to the point where they are too attractive and luring to kids, for them to want to go out and play. I think its the responsibility of the parents to enrol them in clubs at a young age, so they grow up doing the sport and get regular excercise as a result....

Definitely kids should play outside as much as possible. Ideally atleast minimum of 2 hours daily. This much outside play will ensure that kids remain fit & healthy. They can resort to sit on PC games just once a while!!!

Of course they should play outside more. Is it going to happen? Of course not.

I think kids shouldn't be allowed to play video games until they are...I dont know, 10? At lest ten.

Its getting kind of crazy.
