The Need for Speed games are some really great driving/racing games, and GTA is so much more. Have you ever played Trackmania? I love building my own courses and doing all the different stunts.

I have played Trackmania on PC, via Steam.

I don't know about building courses tho

Yea, the building courses was my favorite part (started playing and building with the trackmania sunrise demo even before the game was released yet). I didn't know trackmania was available on steam.....
